Aazhi Publishers, a fast growing publishing company in India, is a new generation publishing venture. Aazhi, means ‘ocean’ in Tamil, is a four year old publishing entity. Started as a small Tamil boutique publisher, now it has started publishing in English and other languages. The vision of the company is to emerge as a multilingual and cross-media publishing corporation with a global market footprint.

To start with, we have two imprints now:

• The flagship one is Aazhi, an imprint for high quality writing in fiction and non-fiction. We publish, original and translation, books on society, culture, environment, economics, history, politics and from other knowledge domains.
• Paper Boat Books, a newly launched one, is for the children and young adults.

Aazhi has some specific divisions as well.

• Aazhi Now: Books on the burning issues globally and locally.
• Harbor: A business book division specializing in 21st century business, management and economic topics.
• Enadhu Aazhi: A mass appeal books division for Tamil readers

Aazhi strongly believes in the new business directives like social business, co-creation, and open publishing and is eagerly willing to work with co-publishing and co-branding partners from around the world.

Led by a team of professionals from publishing, media and translation industries, Aazhi outlaid its strategy to be both profitable and socially responsible. The imprints and divisions of Aazhi Publishers will grow and develop by adding more domains and languages. It will include both print and e-books. It will create new business models for reaching out millions of readers and bring aboard thousands of writers.

Beyond the established goals of a good publishing venture, one of the special missions of Aazhi is to publish in languages of smaller markets. We invite translation and publishing partners for such languages. For example, we are interested in working with numerous Asian, African and Pacific Island languages, hitherto ignored by the publishing market forces.
